Hi there. My name is Daniel Tyler and I was born, raised, and currently reside in Georgia in the United States. Welcome to my little slice of the internet.
My Dad was a tinkerer and loved electronics. He built all kinds of gadgets in the garage while I was growing up and it inspired me to explore how things work.
Around 12 years old, one of my brothers started a Computer Information Systems program at the local Technical College. I watched him work on Visual Basic 6 programs and would read through his schoolbooks. This initially sparked my interest in programming.
After that, I found C++ tutorials online and taught myself fairly well. I ended up buying some books and exploring a lot online. So far I've learned:
- C, C++ 03/11/14/17 and looking forward to 20
- HTML 4.01/5
- CSS 2.1/3+
- JavaScript
- D
- A bit of Assembly
- Python 2/3
- Ruby
- Batch (Windows) and Bash (Linux) scripting
Although I have an education in Electronics Technology and am currently working in the field, programming has always been my passion and I am currently attending Middle GA State University for my Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology with a focus on Software Development. I'm attending University with the hopes of breaking into the IT field.
I'm currently learning OpenGL 3+ Core Profile and experimenting with Real-Time Ray/Path Tracing.
I also enjoy reverse engineering and had a blast creating a utility to read Nero BackItUp's project format and restore its backups.
I've started using GitHub now. You can view it here.
